
If you have not already, it is that time of year to review the new CARF manual and implement changes before July 1, 2026.
This year’s updates focus mainly on clarifications, reorganization, and a few targeted additions—not widespread new requirements. Section 1 includes notable changes related to cultural competency, diversity plan, technology, artificial intelligence, performance improvement, and the rights of persons served. Section 2 includes smaller, program-specific updates. Most changes reflect reorganization of existing expectations across sections, with limited new documentation requirements. Unchanged content was not carried forward into this guide. ARC LLC recommendations and organization-specific comments are included below.
